In the heart of the Brazilian rainforest,
on the river Jauperì, in an area abbandoned by the government lacking any basic services
with a high rate of illiteracy,
there is a little school.

April 2009.
The ban on fishing on the river Jauperì, is about to expire.
The Brazilian Institute for Environment
and Natural Resources (IBAMA)
has organised a meeting to decide whether to renew or to abolish the law.
The meeting will be held in Itaquera,
the nearest village to where the school is located.
