From the beginning of 2011, due to the situation in the North Africa, more than 50.000 people has landed by boat to the Italian island of Lampedusa. 13.000 of them have been sent back to Africa, 15.000 have obtained the status of refugee, while 22.000 have been hosted in inadequate structures while waiting for the recognition of the refugee status. 116 of these people are hosted from more than four months in an abandoned hotel on the top of the Italian Alps. They are completely isolated from the rest of the world and they don’t know if they will be rejected or finally recognized. They live a suspended life while winter is coming and the danger for their safety is increasing.
